How dare you evoke the upsetting memories of pre-civil rights America!
Do you want to go back to the days of horrible literacy tests that denied
Americans the right to vote in their own country?
Your speech was a disgrace to your party and this nation!
A suggestion- explore the history of black Americans and the struggle to get
full equality and protection under the law.
Thank God you are out of Congress!

The only history of a Civics Literacy test being administered is the one given to every legal immigrant who chooses to legally come into our country and become a citizen.
