How do you define illiteracy?

Dear Sir:

I just heard what you said about those of us who voted for President Obama.  With all due respect, of which you merit none, I suspect you do not understand the definition of illiteracy.  While that is sad to discover in one who has held public office, what is even sadder is the depth of your own ignorance, incivility, and hatred of those who think differently from you.  I also suspect your own mother taught you better than that.  Most parents teach their children to treat others with respect and courtesy.  I am sorry you never learned that and even sadder that you espouse such hatred of other Americans.  You speak and act against everything our country stands for.  You ought to apologize to all of us for your hate-filled talk, but I am sure you never will.
